The Volkl Yumi 80 skis with bindings is a great setup for ladies looking for a frontside ski with an agreeable and easygoing personality. What might get looked at as a fairly simple ski gets enhanced by some of Volkl’s signature design features to liven things up a little bit for a more energetic performance. Starting with its construction, the Volkl Yumi 80 feature’s Volkl’s multilayer wood core along with a fiberglass frame. This frame construction drives a lot of power to the edges of the ski for solid edge hold and stability, but It doesn’t add the weight that metal would, allowing the ski to stay light and easily maneuverable. Seriously though, not everyone wants to put so much effort into their ski just to get it to turn. Thanks, Volkl! At 80 millimeters under the boot, this ski provides a quick edge to edge feel along with good torsional stiffness for solid edge hold on firm snow. A forgiving flex and slight rocker profile in the tips and tails allow you to effortlessly initiate a turn and have full control over the ski. Furthermore, a 3D Radius Sidecut allows for a lot of turn shape manipulation. Short medium and long turns are all welcomed by the Yumi 80, so if you want to speed things up, slow things down or bounce between long arcs and short arcs, you won’t have any issues doing that on this ski. Beginners looking to take their skiing to the next level, or intermediate to advanced skiers that just want an easy-going ski will love the performance of the Volkl Yumi 80.
