For those of you who enjoyed the Stormrider 105, you’re in for a treat. The all-new Stormrider 102 from Stockli features subtle design updates to the previous version that provide a more intuitive ski experience and a more effective ski overall. The construction of the ski hasn’t changed all that much, but rather small tweaks have been made to the shape and profile of the ski to achieve certain performance characteristics or improvements therein. The most obvious change was the one made to the sidecut of the ski. The narrower waist width along with a more pronounced rocker in the tail allow the ski to release out of a turn a lot easier, making for a more playful feel overall. The entire Stormrider series features an updated tip shape which is intended to achieve a couple of different things. First, there is a notable increase in rocker which provides a more effortless float. The other change to the tip of the ski is essentially just a larger shape overall which not only adds surface area for float, but it allows you to maximize the effective edge of the ski when it’s laid over in a turn. This feature along with a change to the sidecut of the ski result in improved edge hold. If you enjoyed the Stormrider 105, you’ll love the new and improved performance of the Stormrider 102.
