The Cochise 130 is Tecnica’s top-dog freeride boot for hard-charging skiers that want the performance of a true two-piece alpine boot as well as the freedom and range of motion of a good AT boot. A stiff flex, adjustable innerboot features, and a rigid and slop-free walk mode mechanism make these boot as close to a traditional high-performance alpine boot as possible all while providing the functionality to take you beyond the ropes when the lifts just aren’t cutting it. This year, the Cochise 130 returns with a few upgrades. The one that is most notable right off the bat is the new walk mode mechanism. The new T-Ride lever is longer and more rigid which provides a quicker edge to edge transition as well as increased lateral power and stability. There is no play in this mechanism whatsoever as it locks into place when you are in ski mode. GripWalk soles give you a bit more grip for scrambling around and a more natural step overall. A newly designed hinge point on the boot reduces friction when hiking which allows for smoother motions and less effort on the climb. Inside the boot, you’ll find tons of adjustability and opportunities for a customizable fit, making boot fitting easier than ever before. Skiers that demand a powerful boot but want something effective for the uphill will love the Tecnica Cochise 130.
